For over 40 years, Erik and Herma Fick, and now
also our daughter Debbie, have been breeding,
showing, and working with boxers. Our first
successful boxer was Kim v. Worikben, alias
Kimmetje. She won several championship prizes
and had the perfect boxer character. Within a
few weeks, this well-balanced bitch obtained her
IPO certificate. She was supposed to become our
foundation bitch, but unfortunately Kimmetje
turned out to be a poor mother who did not take
good care of her puppies. As we believe that
“what does not survive in nature should not
survive with us,” we did not go to great lengths
to raise “bad” puppies. So we went in search of
another boxer that would meet all our high
expectations. Our eye fell on Orakel v.
Worikben, a brindle boxer with a very appealing
pedigree, a very balanced character, and a
fantastic exterior. Orakel became Dutch Champion
in no time. Of course, Orakel was also trained
and obtained her IPO certificate with honors. So
we went looking for a suitable partner and
eventually found one in Tours, France.
Fortunately, Orakel proved to be a good mother,
giving birth to seven healthy boxer puppies,
which went on to win a total of 25 championship
prizes and all IPO certificates. This marked the
beginning of the success story of “VAN WORDANIS
BOXERS.”
Health
All our puppies are born and raised in our home
and are well socialized. Puppies are examined by
a veterinarian before they go to their new
owners. All the boxers we breed have good hips a healthy heart
and are spondylosis free; they have all been
officially examined for this. Only by making no
concessions in this regard can you continue to
breed healthy boxers.
Character
Boxer enthusiasts are primarily enthusiasts of
the character of this unique breed. In our
opinion, a boxer should be a free, enthusiastic,
well-balanced dog. A boxer should function as a
friend and housemate for the whole family. This
means that its character must be well-balanced
(so that it is also suitable as a working dog).
We do not breed fearful, insecure, or aggressive
dogs.
Appearance
Only by breeding dogs that meet the breed
standard can the specific breed characteristics
be preserved. At shows, dogs are judged against
the breed standard. By participating in shows
throughout Europe with success, we prove time
and again that our quality is high.
